Manual Call-points
A full range of manual call points is avaliable for interior, exterior and specialised use. They are easilly activated by thumb pressure on the glass, which has been made safe by a plastic laminate over the front to prevent injury from the broken glass. All units come with a test key and comply with current Health and Safety requirements.
Versions are avaliable to suit both conventional and addressable systems, please see below for details. The standard BG90NV conforms to BS5839 whilst the new BGEN54 is the European Standard call-point. The front of both units feature a tool release mechanism that allows quicker removal for maintenance and greater security against unauthorised tampering. They may be flush or surface mounted and weatherproof versions are also avaliable for use in wet locations. All conventional call-points are designed for use with open circuit fault monitored systems although variations can be supplied on request.
Adaptations and accessories are avaliable on all call-points to provide exactly what the customer requires.

How they work
When the glass is broken it releases a switch inside the call-point unit that signals the alarm to the main control panel.
Each unit is supplied with a test key that allows the switch to be activated without breaking the glass.
In conventional fire systems the call-point units switch a resistor accross the line, which is usually a similar value from panel to panel. Addressable units activate internal electronics which communicate with the control panel and indicate the specific device triggered. Due to the multitude of different communication protocols, these are usually system-specific. The call-point must be compatible with the control panel - if in doubt please contact Technical Support for advice.
