Bells Tann Synchronome stock a stylish and varied range of motorised and electronic solenoid bells which are all fully suppressed and suitable for modern fault monitored fire systems. Combining high sound output with low power consumption, the bells are efficient and economical. Our low cost 24 volt motorised bells are avaliable in standard sizes of 4, 6 and 8 inches diameter, with red gongs and silver centers having "Fire" labelling as standard. However a variety of colours, voltages and label styles are avaliable. The reliable and versatile electronic solenoid bells offer a high quality sound output at a minimum current consumption and provide excellent sound coverage. A major advance in alarm bell technology, they combine a miniature solenoid with an integrated electronic control circuit that pulses the striker at a specific rate. The standard units are red with a plain dark grey center disc, and are avaliable in 24v DC or 240v AC. Other colours and voltages are avaliable. A Weatherproof version is also offered having moisture resistant gaskets for outdoor use.
Application Motorised bells are reccomended for use on internal applications only. The 4 inch bell is ideal for use in bedrooms where a sound level of 75dB(A) is required at the bead-head. The 6 inch bell is a general purpose unit giving sufficient sound for most situations. The 8 inch bell gives a deeper and louder sound for enhanced audibility. All units feature long life, low power motors which allow a high number of bells to be used on one average alarm line. The electronic solenoid bells are designed for both internal and external use and are suitable for most requirements. Weatherproof versions are protected to IP55 when fitted with the supplied gaskets and have an optional locking facilty for added security and safety. Their subtle aesthetics mean they are also ideal for residential use even in prestigious buildings. How they Work When the fire panel enters an alarm state it applies 24 volts to the alarm lines powering the bells. Motorised/Centrifugal bells operate via a rotating striker while the Electronic bells use an internal circuit to rapidly pulse the solenoid, emitting a continuous omnidirectional ringing tone. Generally larger bells emit a louder and deeper sound. Installation Motorised bells have polycarbonate base plates with two pairs of terminals for ease of wiring in and out to subsequent bells. A large screw secures the gong. The back-plate features slots and holes to allow easy mounting to a variety of popular back-boxes and patresses, or directly to the wall with standard fixings. Rear cable entry holes are provided and optional cut-outs allow surface wiring to enter the top of the bell without interfering with the gong. Electronic bells comprise of a moulded back-box and removable solenoid assembly with twin loop-through terminals. The gong secures by four bayonet type lugs and a cover plate clips in place hiding all fixings. The back-box may be drilled as required for mounting and cable entry, and a flat section makes surface wiring simple requiring no patresses or mounting boxes.
