Tann Synchronome has a long and industrious history dating back to the 1800s and taking its parentage from two famous clock and safe makers.

Synchronome of London,
established 1895
Tann Safe-makers
founded in London, 1795
Famous for its centrally controlled impulse-clock systems in public buildings up until the 1970s.
Exported observatory clocks worldwide.
Responsible for the original BBC "pips" time signal.
Believed to be the world`s first firm of safemakers.
Provided security worldwide for governments and financial institutions.
Still manufacturing today.

1962
Or thereabouts. Tann Synchronome moved into the fire alarm systems industry and became the second largest UK-based manufacturer, at this time employing some 300 people in Westbury, Wiltshire.

1984
The Vigilant, the first UK-produced analog addressable fire alarm system was released and was a major technological advance. Today, analog addressable fire systems are the dominant technology in the industry.

1980s
Tann Synchronome was purchased by Tunstall Security who moved manufacture to Clevedon in Bristol.

1992
Menvier purchased Tunstall Security and the exclusive rights to the name Tann Synchronome. When the Clevedon plant closed in 1998, Tann moved to Banbury, Oxfordshire.

1999
We underwent a management buyout and now trade once more as a limited company. Our factory is now based in Monmouthshire, South Wales, very near to the Severn Bridge. The managemenent are proud to be able to trace such a rich and long trading history and hope the name will endure for many years to come.

Today, we have built on the expertise gained throughout the years, giving us the knowledge and ability to provide the best quality of products and services to all our customers both new and old.

Services
Tann Synchronome are fire alarm and emergency lighting system specialists and offer services to meet every need, from system design and installation, to commissioning and maintenance. We also supply and service nurse-call systems, fire extinguishers, school class-change signals and more.

Tann Synchronome prides itself in the high quality of its products and services. The company is quality approved to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and the majority of our products are LPCB approved.

Clientelle
Tann Synchronome has an installed/service base of many thousands of sites accross the UK including buildings in the public sector and blue-chip clientele. The latest generation of wire-free radio systems have proved particuarly popular in listed and working buildings, as well as providing a handy solution to overcoming asbestos problems. Our radio systems allow for quick, wireless installation and boast unrivalled reliability.

We are currently situated next to the new Severn Bridge and employ service engineers accross the country. The company is well placed to offer an efficient service base to all of our clients.
